Results Anthony Condello Cup Under 10

After only two weeks of training the boys bravely turned up for the Anthony Condello Cup.
Based on the teams that were participating we knew it was not going to be easy playing other Wallabies and Kangaroos teams.

With four new players and two players from the U9s the boys started well with a 1-0 win over Fawkner.

In the second game against Whittlesea Rangers it seemed like most of the team was sleeping the first five minutes and we were 2-0 down before we knew it.
A good fighting spirit saw them coming back to 3-2 which was a great result against a good team.

On Saturday I had a look at Eltham Redbacks which we would be playing on Sunday. They looked like a very well-organised Kangaroos team that had been playing together for a while.
So it was always going to be hard to be competitive, but a good challenge nevertheless.

I think the boys did well in the end losing 7-1 but never giving up. That’s the spirit!!!

Well done boys. I was especially impressed by the new players who played their first match: Alex, Gabe, Josh and Zak.
Also a big thanks to Keanu and Kruize who came to help out last minute as it didn’t look like we would have enough players Friday night.

If it makes everyone feel better the two teams that beat us are going into the semi finals out of 10 teams.

Once all the players are used to playing with each other and know how to play in their positions it will make a world of difference.

It looked like all the boys had fun playing and that is all that matters in the end!
